Joe Satriani is currently on his Surfing to Shockwave tour that he started in February this year also to promote his fifteenth album Shockwave Supernova that was published last year. He is one of the biggest guitar players of all time and the list of his students reads like an encyclopaedia of rock.
It is less known that he is big fan of science fiction and that he also develops the sci-fi cartoon series Crystal Planet, which is why, being rather a quiet guitar virtuoso, he created a more extroverted character for himself to present Shockwave Supernova.
His tour features all songs from his thirty-year career, from his first album Not of this Earth on, which is quite a lot if we consider that he had at least thirty ideas for every album. His band also includes Mike Keneally (keyboards, guitar), Marco Minnemann (drums), and Bryan Beller (bass).
At the festival in Laško, one of the most famous rock guitar players will celebrate his sixtieth birthday. Will we sing happy birthday to him?
