ManuElla

Jubilejnik, 21:10

A local from Laško – her parents have a pub in the centre of Laško, where she likes to stop by and have a glass of draught beer. Especially during Pivo in cvetje! Manuela Brečko went to a music school, where she played the piano accordion, but she also studied bass guitar, piano and solo singing, which was always her real passion.

In 2005, she entered the competition Bitka talentov in the TV show Spet doma; in 2010, she was chosen as one of top 100 talents in Germany in the show Das Supertalent; she made it to the semi-final of the show Misija Evrovizija 2012; she was fifth at the festival Slovenska popevka 2013; and last year, she was the only Slovenian at the RetrOpatijski festival where she performed the song Vozi me vlak v daljave.

This year, with the song Blue and Red that she wrote together with her partner Marjan Hvala with lyrics by Leon Oblaka, she won at the Slovenian Eurovision Song Contest (EMA) and became the Slovenia’s representative at the 61st Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm.

Her music is also technically sound, because she graduated in studio production at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Ljubljana in 2011.
